Day Dreaming Tips So, you're one of those daydreamers? It's not that you don't like the class it's just that it's so boring... So what do you do when you're daydreaming in class and realize the teacher is staring at you? Well... *Usually if you start looking out the window and realize you are suppose to be taking notes, the notes are on the board, if so write as fast as you can trying not to draw attention to your blank paper. If the notes are not on the board ask someone sitting next to you and try to get as much as you can. *If you find the teacher staring at you most likely they either noticed you staring out the window or have asked you a question. So, what do you say without showing you were not paying attention? Well, "Excuse me?" works well but if you always say the same thing someone will be sure to notice. *Your teacher is going on and on about something way out of the subject, you have tried to pay attention but somehow you don't feel like listening to the way Computers run in Earth Science. After a while you tune back in, when everyone turns to stare at you. Your friend sitting next to you kicks your chair and points at the text book. Which usually draws your teachers attention. BUSTED!! What do I mean, quite simply that next time you tune out and tune back in at least look around to see if anyone has a textbook or paper and pen out. Monkey see, monkey do. |
What To Do When You're Upset During Class WITH TEACHERS I'm sorry to say that during school, there is not a darn thing to do to a teacher if you disagree with him/her. But you can always tell your parents after school. However, there are certain things you can do (other than yell, scream, and shout etc.). 1) There is probably nothing more upsetting to a teacher (or anyone else for that matter) than to start arguing with him/her. So try to not make a big scene. You can make a point to see the teacher after class and discuss it, by that time if you manage to control yourself you may find that you were upset about nothing. 2) Remember that if you get in a fight with a teacher that during school, the principal is more apt to side with the teacher because the teacher has the authority and responsibility to both teach and maintain order in the classroom. 3) I know a couple students who argue so much with the teacher that the teacher has given up calling on them. When you think about it, it is only right for teachers to argue with you or whatever in order to teach the class. And if you are having trouble believing this put your self in their shoes. What would you do? WITH OTHER STUDENTS If you are ever in an argument or fight remember the following tips: (both to help you and your reputation) 1) Even if you are in a simple disagreement that anything you say can and may start something larger and rebellious against you. So try to be calm even if you think you will explode. 2) Also if you do start a fight and end up being asked if you started it, do your self a favor and tell the truth. I know you think it is crazy but if you don't you will start building a bad reputation as troublemaker. 3) The best way to avoid getting into fights is to either ignore the other student (the one making you want to scream at him)or stay clear of the people that do start fights and arguments and other loud mouths. THE PRINCIPAL Okay, here's the deal if you are arguing with the principal, chances are you are beyond my help. But if you ever do get in a fight, simply remember that whatever you say or do will be/can be used against you in the court of law (basically consisting of you, the principal, your grades, and your parents). So, if you are guilty just admit it. |

How To Make A Good Impression |
Tips On Getting Good Grades Getting goog grades may be simple or hard to you depending on your study habits. If you know for a fact that you do not have good study habits maybe that's why you don't get good grades. My idea of good study habits are pretty simple to understand: Pay attention to your teacher. Pay attention to what goes around you so you do not get caught daydreaming. When you get home from school the first thing you do is your homework. During class you work quietly without bothering anyone else when you are finished. Study before a test even if you think you know all the information. And not necessarily a work habit but still an important part to getting good grades, if you have a question ask the teacher, if you are afraid someone might make fun of you because you do think of it this way, would you rather ask and pass the test or not ask and end up flunking? |
